During the main marquee season we are often looking for people to join our teams of riggers in North Yorkshire. The teams erect and dismantle the marquees all over Yorkshire so the work is varied and in different locations each week. The teams are good fun and it’s a hard but enjoyable job.

The season runs from May to September and we are based in York so you would need to be able to find accommodation and transport (the site is not far from central York so a push bike would do)

No experience is required but the following attributes are essential

Hard working
Physically fit and strong
Plenty of common sense
Personable and polite
Pays attention to detail
Able to speak good English (necessary for safety reasons)
Good at working in small teams and self motivated
Able to take orders and learn the process of erecting and dismantling aluminium framed
marquees
Happy to work long hours occasionally

Experience driving 7.5 tonne lorries would be helpful
A forklift driver’s licence would be useful

Foremen/Team Leaders

Each season we take on several foremen to run client jobs and the teams of riggers. These roles are for people who have experience in this industry and can put up 9m, 10m, 12.5m and 15m clearspan marquees. If you have that experience and would like to join us please contact Gordon Eccles.
